Details of Dinky 295 Standard Atlas Bus
The Dinky Standard Atlas Bus.
Released May 1960 and featured on the back of that months Meccano Magazine. Fitted with steering wheel, seats, windows and suspension. Based on a vehicle with an Atlas body conversion by Kenex. Shown at 3/9 on the February 1961 Dinky UK price list.
The Standard Motor Company Limited was founded in Coventry, in 1903 by Reginald Walter Maudslay. For years, it manufactured Ferguson TE20 tractors, powered by its Vanguard engine. All Standard's tractor assets were sold to Massey Ferguson in 1959. Standard purchased the Triumph Motor Company in 1945, and in 1959, Standard changed its name to Standard-Triumph International and branded its products as Triumph. A subsidiary The Standard Motor Company Limited, and took on the manufacture.
The original price was 3/9 . It was available in grey & blue, blue finish. Released as Dinky 295 in 1960
