Vilmer 204

The Vilmer Tow Truck. Vilmer made several different versions of this truck: with or without opening doors, neutral livery, Falck and/or Falck-Zonen livery. Falck {= (private) former brake down (& Fire fighting) Compagny in Denmark, now the name is “Falck”} acquired ownership of their competitor Zonen in January 1963, so this version with both Falck and Falck-Zonen markings must be from around that period.

The original Volvo Titan, L395, was launched in 1950. It was followed by the L495 in 1959 - visually there was minimal difference between them. Vilmer never officially named the truck they based their model on, but knowing how they always strived to be up-to-date, it is rather safe to assume, that a 1963 model would be described as a Volvo L495 Titan.

The model is quite complex with an advanced underside (with intricate suspension), a movable (loose) crane boom just behind the cab, a fully working 'grille / tow spoon' at the rear, and on some models the 2 cabin doors opened. The headlights are clear plastic lenses, while the grille is made of black, semi-pliable plastic. It was available in red finish at 1:50 scale. Released as Vilmer 204 in 1963
