The French Dinky Hotchkiss/Willys Jeep dépannage. Between 1968 and 1971, French Dinky produced a model of the Jeep dépannage (1412). At 84mm in length, the model cost Fr.6 (new Francs), about 12/-. Finished in a bright orange, the model had even brighter yellow front and rear bumpers, with diagonal black warning stripes. The rear mounted crane jib featured a small spot light. The model was deleted in 1971.

The model came about because directly after the Second World War, the US Army presented the French government with a huge stock of war-surplus Willys Jeeps to re-equip the French army. Only about half of the vehicles were in a usable condition. In 1946, in the Saint-Denis area of north-east Paris, the Etablissement de Réserve Générale du Matériel Automobile (E.R.G.M.) began work to make the vehicles usable. The Jeeps in the poorest condition were broken up for use as spare parts. However, this quickly created a larger stock than could be used and work began on building re-cycled Jeeps using the surplus spare parts. As time progressed, this production process, which continued until 1978, increasingly combined old parts with new components, each vehicle becoming a unique blend of parts made by Willys, Ford and Hotchkiss. These vehicles were frequently found engaged in farming, forestry or recovery work. The original price was Fr.6 . It was available in orange finish. Released as French Dinky 1412 in 1968 withdrawn as French Dinky 1412 in 1971.
