The Dinky USA Police Car - De Soto Fireflite. The De Soto Fireflite version of the Dinky Toys 258 U.S.A. Police car had a relatively short production life. It was released in October 1960, and was replaced after May 1961 with the 191 Dodge Royal Sedan casting. The price of the De Soto was 4/9 on release and throughout its sales life. The reason for its short life is unknown but was possibly linked to damage sustained to the mould. Fitted with a roof light and a plastic aerial no the boot. The original price was 4/9 .
