French Dinky 587 Camonnette Citroen 'Philips'
The French Dinky Camonnette Citroen 'Philips' Citroën Currus HY ‘Philips’ display van. Launched in late 1964, the Citroën Currus HY ‘Philips’display van, 587, appeared in the 1965 French Dinky catalogue. At a scale of 1:50, the 122mm long model cost 12 fr. (new francs), about £1, 4/-. The zamac body had plastic interior fittings and a tinplate base plate. The demonstrator van had lift up doors on the near side and at the rear, which exposed an interior normally behind clear plastic windows. The yellow-gold, red and silver colours were a trademark of the Dutch electrical manufacturer, ‘Philips’ during the 1960s. The Citroën HY model was based a long wheelbase version of the 1200kg van, with the extended bodywork, which in reality was produced by Currus.
