The 747 in real life

The Realtoy Boeing 747. The real aircraft was made from 1989. The call-sign/registration ‘PH-BQF’ belonged to a Boeing 777-200, delivered to KLM in 2004. But this model should carry (because it looks the most of that with) call-sign as ‘PH-BFF’ with the name: (‘city of) ‘Freetown’ .

Because KLM had for their iconic 747.400- & 747.400M-fleet – exist of 26 p. of in total 46 p. 747 planes – reserved the line of registrations from PH-BFA up to PH-BFY plus 4 in only full cargo version from PH-CKA up to PH-CKD.

KLM used this version –passengers’ cabin plus a partial separate cargo part behind that cabin – between 11-1989 and 03-2021. KLM was the only airline in the world that flew this type of aircraft.

This version of the real airplane can be seen as honor to the Boeing 747 as the first widebody Jumbo Jet – produced between 1974 and 2020 –, also called ‘Queen of the Skies’. It has a subsonic flight between Mach 0,83-0.86. It had a strengths upper deck and a part in the back part to cargo transport (large loading-door at left side). The massagers are: Length = 70,66 m ; Wing span = 64,40 m ; High (tail) = 19,06 m . It was available in blue & white finish at 1:500 scale.
