The Crescent Toys Ordnance QF 18 pdr .
Crescent Toys manufactured lead figures and animals, die cast metal vehicles, toy guns and later plastic figures and toy soldiers of various historical periods.
The mostly models have ‘wooden’ horsecar spike wheels and so are the Mk. 1 or Mk. 2 type. This miniature shows the modified Mk.2/type 1P which is used in Finland.
The three main real life producers were: Vickers, the Royal Ordnance Factories and Armstrong.
Was used in WW-I and (modified) in the ‘WinterWar’ (Finland – Russia in 1939/1940 *) by the Finnish Army.
It had a cal. 3.3 in / 83,8mm and a range of max 6525 y. / 10 km.
* The ‘WinterWar’ started in 30 nov.’39 by an invasion of Russia during until 13-03-1940. It was available in olive drab finish at 1:60 scale. Released as Crescent Toys 1249 in 1960 withdrawn as Crescent Toys 1249 in 1970.
