The Lion Car DAF Pony. There are two different die cast models with this number by Lion Toys.

The Pony model was available in two versions, as pick-up/flatbed truck and as truck with trailer. In real life there was also also a tipper. The Pony was made in 1968 + 1969. The engine was 2-cylinder Boxer 850cc and 40 hp. 700 Pony's were made are 700 made and 200 trailers.

Daf-factory designed and made in his passenger cars and the Pony with a special type of automatic gear box & transmission-system the ‘variomatic’.

Markings on the base 2x "42". Markings in upper side of the trailers open cargo box : “Lion Toys made in holland” and in the upper side trucks-chassis : “42 Lion Toys”. Markings front of the truck : “DAF” and “pony” It was available in red & white finish at 1:50 scale. Released as Lion Car 42 in 1970
