Details of Dinky 555 Fire Engine
The Dinky Fire Engine. Released Dec 1952 with a price of 9/4.This vehicle was based on a Commer chassis. By Jan 54 the dropped to 7/3. Renumbered 955 in Mar 54. Advertised in the February 1958 Meccano Magazine for 7/9. Issued with windows by Mar 60 with a consequent increase in price to 7/6 which had increased to 8/6 by May 61. Last appeared inn the May 69 catalogue, at 12/6. Also available as part of 957 Fire gift set with 257 and 956. The original price was 7/3 . It was available in red finish at 1:43 scale. Released as Dinky 555 in 1952 withdrawn as Dinky 555 in 1954.
