Details of Dinky 323 Triple Gang Mower
The Dinky Triple Gang Mower.
Renumbered from 27J in 1954 and deleted in 1961. Shown in the MM-catalog of 10-1953.
This triple gang mower is intended for mowing lawns in public areas, such as parks, and that like. As MM said in the 1953-catalog announce for October: “A fascinating miniature of the Gang mowers used for golf course fairways, parks, large sports grounds and airfields”. This model is a masterpiece of Meccano Liverpool. It is a complicated model, consisting of 3 separate mowers that are linked together by a frame with large rivets, which can be turned slightly, so that it can smoothly follow the track of the tractor. The model is even equipped with a towbar. The bottom of the 3 mowers is cast marked with “Meccano Ltd” and the wheels on the outside with “Dinky Toys”. The middle frame is marked "Made in England". It’s a very playable model {behind one of the DT (300 a. o. 308) -tractors}. The original price was 6/6 . It was available in red & black finish at 1:50 scale. Released as Dinky 323 in 1954 withdrawn as Dinky 323 in 1961.
