Details of Dinky 181 Volkswagen
The Dinky Volkswagen. Introduced in February 1956 in green and grey colours and illustrated on the back cover of Meccano magazine that month. Shown in Dinky catalogue No 5 May 1969 for 3/9. The rare South African version is sage green. The South African box may have a description in Africaans and will also say "Printed in South Africa" and "Sole Distributors: Arthur E. Harris (Pty) Ltd". The original price was 2/6 . It was available in green, blue or grey or blue finish at 1:46 scale. Released as Dinky 181 in 1956 withdrawn as Dinky 181 in 1970.
